Grooms cake......

The grooms cake was originally a southern wedding tradition. However, lately it seems the tradition is being used by just about everyone planning a wedding. The idea is wonderful, I think.

Way back when, the grooms cake was a fruit cake ( please hold the groans) and was taken home by the unmarried female guests. Supposedly, the ladies would wrap the pieces up and place them under their pillows and dream of their future husband.

Traditionally, the brides orders the cake but would design it based on her future husbands personality. In more modern times, the groom takes part in designing his cake and often makes it a surprise for all including his future Mrs. I have seen some over the top gorgeous groom cakes and some that are just over the top. Enjoy the pictures!
